Constitution Day 2016

Happy Constitution Day 2016 from the Kitsap Patriots Tea Party!!!

constitution-day

We encourage you to take time to read the U.S. Constitution.  Beyond that, to understand it’s significance, history, and how to properly interpret its content, we encourage you to take the Hillsdale College FREE online courses on the Constitution.  As you grasp its beauty, you may proclaim as Frederick Douglass did in 1852, “Interpreted as it ought to be interpreted, the Constitution is a GLORIOUS LIBERTY DOCUMENT!”

State Representative Jesse Young (R-26th) has organized a flagwaving event in remembrance of the September 11 terrorist attacks.  Volunteers with the Kitsap Patriots Tea Party and Tacoma Narrows Tea Party will assist the Young team in manning locations.  The following is from a volunteer with the Young campaign:

[Hat-Tip to Maria Apodaca, Autumn Bennett, Peggy Hutt, and Jesse Young for the info!]

Sunday, Sept 11th, 2016 marks 15 years since one of the worst tragedies in American history – a day that claimed the lives of over 400 of our First Responders.  To show our support of those who support us, State Representative Jesse Young humbly invites you to join us in honoring our First Responders.  We will be joining forces with local Fire & Police Departments, and First Responder support groups to coordinate a District-wide flag waving exercise that will create a ‘thin blue line’, and a ‘thin red line’ that connects communities throughout the Kitsap and Key Peninsulas.  We have selected 10 locations along Highway 16, as well as the Purdy Spit; and these locations will have either a ‘red’ or ‘blue’ theme; and we ask that (IN ADDITION TO WAVING AMERICAN FLAGS), supporters also wear the appropriate color shirt or hat that coincides with the color theme for each location.  Locations:

1.) BLUE Location: 24th St. overpass in Gig Harbor
2.) RED Location: Olympic Dr overpass in Gig Harbor
3.) BLUE Location: Wollochet Dr. NW overpass in Gig Harbor
4.) RED Location: Burnham Dr. NW overpass in Gig Harbor
5.) BLUE Location: 144th St NW overpass in Gig Harbor
6.) RED Location: Purdy Spit to Key Peninsula (west of bridge)
7.) BLUE Location: Bethel Rd overpass in Port Orchard
8.) RED Location: Sedgwick Rd overpass in Port Orchard
9.) BLUE Location: Tremont St underpass in Port Orchard
10.) RED Location: W. Loxie Eagans Blvd overpass in Brem.

We have purchased over 500 flags, so if you don’t have one of your own to wave, we’ve got you covered! We’ll have representatives at each location to hand these out. We ask that anyone who wishes to participate go to the location that is most convenient for them; but PLEASE email us which location you’ll be going to be at so we can ensure proper coverage at each location throughout the peninsula.

CONTACT INFO: communications@JYFSR.com 253 509 8585

Thank you for your support of our First Responders!
