For those new to the debate on Common Core, it is a federal takeover of decision-making capabilities of local school boards among other harmful consequences to our teachers, parents, and students.  In the summer of 2013, the Kitsap Patriots Tea Party adopted a resolution opposing Common Core.  Recently, both major political parties in Washington followed suit.  It is only party leadership in hearings like these that is preventing repeal.  Find out more on the history of government education at the March 2015 Kitsap Patriots Tea Party Meeting featuring education expert Sharon Hanek.
